Iqra High School Admissions Procedure

This sheet provides you with details you need to know about the process of obtaining a place in our school for your child.

Iqra High School is a ten form entry school for children aged 11-16 years.

Applications should be made on a form that can be obtained from the school or sent to you via email if requested. This is also downloadable from our website. This should be returned to the school upon completion. Children will be invited for a test and an interview. The school will notify parent/guardian of the decision as soon as the selection process has been completed. We may offer children places who have not passed our selection criteria provided a mutual plan is agreed with the parent/guardian helping pupils to reach the required standard. After a place has been allocated, the parent/guardian will be requested to pay a non-refundable deposit of £200 for each child.

When the school is oversubscribed, then the following priorities apply in order:

  1. Children with siblings attending the school
  2. School staff children
  3. If the child is from our local feeder schools
  4. On a first come, first served basis

Admission Appeals

If we do not offer a child a place at our school, the parent/guardian has the right to appeal. Please return the appeal form to us after having it completed, obtainable from the school. The Governing body considers all such appeals, and the outcome will be notified to the parent/guardian.
